Our desire at Gateway is that prayer be at the heart of everything we do. Without prayer, whatever we do will be as limited in its purpose and potential as are our natural strengths and abilities. Prayer not only invites God into helping us with all that we’re doing, but prayer is the way in which we discover what we’re to be doing in the first place! In other words, if we want to be involved in the deep works of God rather than the shallow works of men and women, we must continually connect with God in prayer.
Jesus said, "My house shall be a house of prayer for all nations" (Matthew 21:13). The first Wednesday of every month, 7:00-8:30pm, both our church campuses hold corporate prayer gatherings called "Prayer Summits." We consider Prayer Summits to be the most important event on our church calendar! It's a dynamic time of prayer & worship where people at every stage of their walk with Jesus can participate and learn to exercise the power of prayer together. We encourage every member of Gateway to make these evenings a priority.
There is a church building at 1445 Callsbeck Avenue just across the tracks from our Panet campus where Gateway has set up a Prayer Room 9:00am to 9:00pm every Wednesday. There are over a dozen prayer stations with unique focuses set up around a large room, which allows for various people to use the Prayer Room at the same time -- sometimes praying on your own, or if you'd like, sometimes praying with others.
You can sign up for as many 1-hour prayer slots as you'd like for any Wednesday, from 9 to 9!
South Osborne Ladies' Prayer
Many of the women in our South Osborne congregation meet weekly, as well as one evening a month, at our South Osborne campus to pray together and for each other.
Each Tuesday, we meet in the morning from 9:30 to 11:00am, and on the third Wednesday evening of every month, we also meet from 7:00 to 8:30pm. Free childcare is provided for the morning meetings so that as many women as possible will be able to participate.
The time is spent in praying for both big and small requests – nothing is too big or too small to bring before our Father. The time of prayer and fellowship is deep and rich for all who come. Come to pray or be prayed for, to minister or be ministered to. It’s all part of moving the kingdom of God forward, and everyone is welcome.
