IN-PERSON SERVICES HAVE BEEN POSTPONED

Dear Gateway Church,

Pastor Ron here. As of yesterday, November 12, 2020, Manitoba has gone into Code Red lockdown due to the high numbers of COVID infections throughout our Province. Manitoba has gone from one of the lowest infection rates per capita in Canada to the highest infection rate per capita in Canada. This is very concerning and will require a united response to curb the numbers. COVID-19 is a very real and serious threat; however, there is no reason to let fear, panic or hysteria grip our hearts and motivate our behaviour. We want to be proactive NOT reactive. Our God is in control. The risen Jesus Christ is still on The Throne working out His purposes and expanding His Kingdom. We have the power of the Holy Spirit to help us to live in the midst of this crisis motivated by love, peace and faith toward God and toward our neighbours. Let’s reflect those Kingdom and Christ-centered values as we persevere through another lockdown and especially in all our social media posts. Let’s not be part of the chaos and confusion that is so prevalent in the current climate. These are great days of opportunity to shine with the light & love of Jesus and to be ministers of reconciliation and peace.

The new Code Red regulations require that churches close down all in-person worship services so Gateway will again be moving to online services only. Click HERE on Sunday morning to watch. We will still be producing a Sunday service at 10:00 am and live streaming it so that all Gateway church members and all those searching for hope, can participate in worship and in the ministry of God’s Word. In addition, the South Congregation will also be using the Zoom format to connect on Sundays.

Thank you again, to those of you who have continued to give so faithfully throughout the last nine months when there has been so much disruption. You have enabled us to continue equipping the saints, caring for the flock and advancing Jesus’ mission in the world. The opportunities to give financially will remain the same:

Let’s continue to give thanks and hold on to the promise of Psalm 91 while seeking to serve and pray for the wider communities of Winnipeg and Manitoba. These are great days of opportunity to pray, to grow spiritually, to serve, and to be salt and light in our local community. We will be monitoring the situation as it develops and will be in touch with both of our congregations with further updates as necessary.

If you have any questions, please click HERE to CONTACT US and we will make sure to respond to you in a timely manner.
